Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has set the best time in a heavily rain-hampered second free practice for the Japanese Grand Prix. The track stayed closed for the first half of the session due to weather conditions. The conditions didn't improve much, though.
That's the main reason six drivers chose to stay in the box completely, while others only ventured out for some installation laps. Hamilton, both Force India drivers and both Williams drivers completed a timed lap. Lance Stroll had a moment in Turn 1, just keeping his car out the tyre barriers.
