Fastest laps from the 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix

Ferrari came out on top in Hungary, bringing home a one-two finish to started pulling back Mercedes' lead in the constructor championship. Despite the strong finish, it wasn't a Mercedes who claimed the fastest lap and nor was it a Mercedes. Surprisingly, Fernando Alonso came out on top and claimed the fastest lap of the race, setting a 1:20.182 which was almost three tenths faster than what anyone else could manage.

Following the race, the double world champion said: "We worked for that result all weekend – no mistakes, good practice sessions, strong qualifying, and then a perfectly executed race.the fastest lap at the end of the race was a surprise, a gift but one we’ll take! It was definitely a good race, so let’s go into the summer break with smiles on our faces."

  • Nice for Alonso, but fastest lap times are overrated; they only show who still could + wanted to push at the end of the race.

  • Quite the difference between Vandoorne's and Alonso's fastest times. Im aware Alonso pushed much harder to set that time, but its almost 1,8 seconds.

Pretty good time from Ericsson, all things considered. Im not surprised to see Kimi and Max in the top 3, they drove like mad most of the race.
