Sebastian Vettel has kept up his Friday form by setting the fastest lap again in Bahrain, a time of 1:31.310. It was not all smooth for him, however, as his car shut down on the back straight, and he had to get a push back to the pits. However, after a quick review of the car, the engineers were happy and sent the German back on his way.
Valtteri Bottas set the second fastest time, a 1:31.351 and that was only very slightly faster than a good effort from Daniel Ricciardo, who slotted into third. Ferrari fixed the issues that Raikkonen suffered in FP1 and the Iceman ended his session in fourth.

Lewis Hamilton was unable to set his optimum time as his fastest lap appeared to be infringed by Nico Hulkenberg. The incident will be investigated and the pair finished fifth and sixth respectively. Felipe Massa's time saw him end the session in seventh, ahead of the second Red Bull of Max Verstappen who appeared to hit the T-Wing from Valtteri Bottas' car and in turn damage his own car.
Romain Grosjean ended the session in ninth with Daniil Kvyat in tenth, two-tenths of a second behind the Frenchman. The other Haas of Magnussen finished eleventh, while Kvyat's team mate Sainz had to stop trackside with a car issue, and ended up nineteenth.
Esteban Ocon's fastest lap was quicker than team mate Sergio Perez's as both men ended the session in twelfth and fifteenth respectively. Jolyon Palmer was a long way off his team mate down in thirteenth.
The McLaren's finished fourteenth and twentieth, with Fernando Alonso being faster than Stoffel Vandoorne. The two Sauber's completed Friday practice in seventeenth and eighteenth, with Marcus Ericsson ahead of returnee Pascal Wehrlein.
