Romain Grosjean is at a loss to describe is struggles so far this weekend.
The Haas driver suffered crashes both yesterday and today, leading the former Renault and Lotus driver to brand his car for this weekend as the worst he has driven "in a long, long time".
"I don’t know what’s going on, to be fair," he said after qualifying. "Yesterday we had issues, we were struggling. I spun the car and crashed yesterday and ended up doing the same again today."
"That’s not my style of driving, to do that twice in two days," he insisted. "There’s something not quite right, so we really need to analyse what it is. We’ve been trying to resolve the problem. It was qualifying and I was pushing at 200 percent. It’s just been a weird weekend all along."
Esteban Gutierrez also endured a trying qualifying session, despite managing to out-qualify his team mate for the sixth time in the last ten races.
The Mexican felt he could have challenged for a spot in the top ten before he was robbed of a chance of completing his final flying lap.
"Qualifying was very frustrating," he said. "It was a missed opportunity."
"I was preparing myself for that lap and I believe I would’ve had the opportunity to fight for Q3 if I could’ve completed it," added the former-Sauber and Ferrari driver. "We were really unlucky today. However, I’ll take the feeling I experienced during the first part of the lap into tomorrow for the race.”
