Red Bull Racing’s latest charity auction has fetched an impressive result. The signed race suits worn by Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda during the Japanese Grand Prix have raised a combined total of €95,000, with all proceeds going to Red Bull’s official foundation, Wings for Life.
A meaningful gesture after a special race
The auction, hosted by F1 Authentics, allowed fans and collectors to bid on the unique race suits worn in Suzuka. It was a particularly memorable weekend for both drivers: for Verstappen, a return to one of his favourite circuits, and for Tsunoda, his first race in the senior Red Bull car following his promotion from the Racing Bulls team.
The funds will support Wings for Life, a non-profit organisation backed by Red Bull that funds spinal cord research. Founded by Red Bull co-owner Dietrich Mateschitz and motocross legend Heinz Kinigadner, the charity has long been a fixture in Formula 1’s philanthropic efforts.
Red Bull and F1 Authentics celebrate the result Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies praised the initiative: “We’re thrilled that, together with F1 Authentics, we’ve raised more than £80,000 for our partner Wings for Life. These Japan race suits symbolised our collaboration with Honda, and it’s amazing to see them contribute to such important research into spinal cord injuries.”
F1 Authentics founder and CEO Barry Gough shared his pride in the partnership, calling the auction a milestone: “We’re delighted to have raised such an impressive amount for Wings for Life. These suits, worn by Red Bull Racing’s drivers, are rare collector’s items with
deep symbolic value. Supporting Wings for Life has been part of our mission for years, and it’s rewarding to see fans participate so enthusiastically.”
Wings for Life CEO Emma Hind added:
“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from F1 Authentics and Red Bull Racing. The £83,500 raised will make a real impact on our spinal cord research. It’s always a pleasure to work with such dedicated partners, and we look forward to the next campaign.”
The collaboration highlights the charitable side of Formula 1’s biggest stars — proof that even away from the track, the power of Red Bull and its drivers can drive change.
