Raikkonen tops FP3 at Spa

Kimi Raikkonen ended the third practice session at the Belgian Grand Prix at the top of the timesheets, with his Ferrari posting a best lap time of 1:43.916. His team-mate Sebastian Vettel was second, just 0.197s behind, with Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton a very close third. Max Verstappen was fourth on his adopted home circuit, while Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top six.

Jolyon Palmer's fortunes improved dramatically with an impressive seventh place in his Renault; he led Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso in eighth, ninth and tenth. The lower half of the order was headed up by the second Renault of Nico Hulkenberg in eleventh, while Perez's team-mate Esteban Ocon was twelfth on his return to the circuit that gave him his debut. Romain Grosjean took the unlucky thirteenth for Haas, whilst home hero Stoffel Vandoorne slotted his McLaren into the midfield in fourteenth.

The Williams duo took fifteenth and sixteenth, with Lance Stroll ahead of Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen finished significantly behind Grosjean in seventeenth spot. He only found himself ahead of Daniil Kvyat's Toro Rosso, which stopped early with an engine problem, and the two Saubers - Pascal Wehrlein beat Marcus Ericsson once again.
