Nico Rosberg was bested to pole position by his team-mate Lewis Hamilton for the Italian Grand Prix by almost half a second.
A very sullen Rosberg gave an incredibly brief yet straightforward answer in the post qualifying press conference.
"I think the best explanation is that he did some good laps," he said when asked about why the margin to Hamilton was so big. "I had a decent weekend up to now and got some good laps in today, but just wasn't quick enough."
Rosberg is going in chase of Hamilton who leads the standings by nine points.
