Daniel Ricciardo qualified in third place for tomorrow's German Grand Prix and was pleased with the gap to the Mercedes drivers.
Additionally, Ricciardo thinks that Red Bull has interesting options with tires for the race.
"I think we're very close to Mercedes," he said. "Beforehand we had hoped that we could get within half a second and I did my first lap was very strong in Q3, I knew there was not much more to get."
"In my last lap I made some mistakes and we know that we are not quick enough for pole," he added. "We have different tires for the race and that can make it interesting."
