Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has smashed the unofficial track record at Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona this morning. The German posted a 1:17.182 on the hypersoft compound. That's almost nine tenths faster than Daniel Ricciardo was yesterday.
It's been a productive day for all teams so far, no red flags yet. Kevin Magnussen is a surprising second, Nico Hülkenberg rounds out the top three. Mercedes and Red Bull Racing haven't done laps on the softest compounds though, but no doubt Vettel's time caught their attention.
