Sebastian Vettel has been given a three-place grid penalty for next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix after causing an incident on the opening lap of the Malaysia Grand Prix.
The Ferrari driver tagged the back of Nico Rosberg's Mercedes, destroying his suspension and sending the championship leader into a spin which dropped him to the back of the field and out of contention for the win.
"I can’t do more than apologise to him [Rosberg] because it had nothing to do with him and it was the last thing he wanted," Vettel said afterwards.
The stewards also gave Vettel two points on his racing licence.
