Williams has released rendered images of its 2019 car, the FW42. The Grove squad launched its 2019 livery at an event earlier this week, where it also confirmed its new title sponsor.

The team used its 2018 car with an updated front wing at the launch event as it prepared its upcoming challenger. The team was behind schedule, leading it to cancel a planned shakedown this Saturday in Barcelona.

This season, it partners Robert Kubica and George Russell and it aims to bounce back from a disastrous 2018 campaign.

"None of us know where other teams are going to be," said deputy team principal Claire Williams. "Our target this year is progress. We have to show that.

"In the short-term we have to be targeting the top four again and work back towards getting on the podium."

  • It looks... a bit better? But the colouring is still off for me. they shoulda gone Williams blue or a brighter blue. And they should ditch the black bits. So sayeth I, the fashion police.

  • I think it does look a bit better in the light. I personally like the black, but it all comes down to personal preference. I would always choose to buy a black car over baby blue, which I would never buy let alone drive. This statement again to me is a non-statement. Williams was number 4, but if you're going to spin it right way round, then spin your car and team as, like Red Bull not being a factory team but taking it to the top two teams why can't Williams be challenging the top two teams when they have arguably the best engine in their car. Settling for we would like to get to 4th is not anything like, we want to be challenging for race wins! Full stop.
