Williams is fully focused on its 2017 season and therefore will not hurry into deciding who will drive its cars next year, according to Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams.
Both of the squad's current drivers are signed on contracts that expire at the end of the year. Canadian rookie Lance Stroll initially endured a baptism of fire and a difficult start to life in F1, but three points finishes in the last four races mean that his team is apparently keen to keep him. His team-mate and mentor Felipe Massa has also performed well since returning from his short retirement, and the Brazilian says he would like to stay, but Williams insists these decisions are far from being made.
"For us, we've decided we're going to hold off a bit on our driver decision," she revealed. "We've got a fight on our hands on the racetrack at the moment and to be distracted by those kinds of conversations isn't something that we want to be happening at the moment."
