Verstappen fastest after FP3

Max Verstappen ended the final practice session in Bahrain fastest after setting a lap time of 1:32.194. The time was one tenth faster than Lewis Hamilton, who ended up in second.

Sebastian Vettel was third, marginally ahead of the second Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas. Completing the top five was Kimi Raikkonen. Red Bull appear to be more on the pace, however, the hot conditions were reported to suit them.

Despite appearing to have pace in his car, Daniel Ricciardo could not match his team mate's time and ended the session in seventh. The story at Williams seems to be remaining the same, with Felipe Massa having a pace advantage over Lance Stroll, as they finished sixth and fourteenth respectively.

Jolyon Palmer set the slowest time of the session which doesn't look good alongside that of his team mate's Nico Hulkenberg, whose lap slotted him into P8.

The Toro Rosso's continued their positive weekend as they ended the session ninth and tenth, with Carlos Sainz in front of Russian Daniil Kvyat. Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso finished just outside the top ten, while Pascal Wehrlein will be pleased heading into qualifying, as his best lap saw him emerge in P13

Stoffel Vandoorne and Esteban Ocon ended practice fifteenth and sixteenth, ahead of the two Haas cars of Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean. Grosjean hit the barriers midway through the session, sustaining damage to his front wing. He was able to return to the track at the end of the session and will have no problems for qualifying.
