Lance Stroll has said that he wants to focus on winning the European Formula Three title amid speculation linking him to a Formula One drive.
The young Canadian has already amassed enough super license points and will be 18 by the start of next season, leading many to believe he will replace Felipe Massa at Williams next year.
But the teenager, who is also thought to have $35 million in backing from his billionaire fashion mogul father, said that despite the pressure of F1 talk, he wants to focus on F3.
"There is pressure," he admitted, "and a lot of people talking, but I just have to concentrate on finishing the season properly in F3."
"People talk about F1, and it's a bigger world, but in the end I can only do the best I can do."
He is also not getting carried away with title talk either, despite holding a 68 point lead with just two rounds and six races still to go.
"Yes, I can win (the F3 title) before the end of the season, but I do not want to think about it," he told Radio-Canada.
Whether or not a 2017 F1 début is planned, Stroll will soon start a testing programme with Williams using a 2014 car.
"I don't know all the details. Williams have developed a programme for me with the 2014 car, but I don't know when it will start," he said. "We will go on different tracks in Europe and outside Europe."
"I can't wait, it's exciting and I'll be busy," he added. "But we must separate the two worlds a little and focus on one thing at a time."
He also admitted that a move into GP2 could be on the table.
"If the opportunity comes, for sure F1 is where you want to be," said Stroll. "But if GP2 is what you have to do then you have to do it.
"I don't know yet. Both options are possible," he said.
