Lewis Hamilton has claimed pole position for the 2016 Italian Grand Prix after setting a 1 minute 21.135. Hamilton was almost half a second ahead of his team-mate Nico Rosberg. Both Mercedes finished ahead of the Ferrari's of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen who will start the race from third and fourth respectively.
Valtteri Bottas finished fifth ahead of the two Red Bull's of Daniel Riccirardo who came home in sixth and Max Verstappen who finished in seventh.
Sergio Perez was marginally ahead of his team-mate to start eight, Hullkenberg will take his grid position in ninth. Finishing the top 10 was the surprising performance of Esteban Gutierrez who got Haas into Q3 for the first time this season.
The only driver who failed to set a lap was the Manor of Esteban Ocon who had a problem starting his hot lap and pulled to the side of the track. He will have to receive the stewards permission to race tomorrow.
The Italian Grand Prix will start at 2.p.m local time tomorrow.
