Nico Rosberg has scored his 27th pole position at his home track lapping over a tenth of a second faster than his team mate Lewis Hamilton.
Rosberg is happy with his pole position and looking forward to the race tomorrow.
"My lap felt good and it ultimately proved to be a fantastic lap," he said. "I had extra fuel on board, they refueled me for three laps so I could do another lap."
"I have no idea where the electrical problem came from, the engine suddenly completely disappeared," he added. "I am sure we can solve this problem and will not suffer from the race. I am looking forward to the race tomorrow."
