Geheel tegen de verwachting in hebben de Formule 1-teams overeenstemming bereikt om in 2013 niet tijdens het seizoen te testen. Dit zal een tegenvaller zijn voor een aantal teams, zoals Ferrari, die graag meer tests tijdens het seizoen wilde rijden.
Technisch gedelegeerden van alle teams kwamen afgelopen dagen overeen dat de seizoenstest in de zomer niet nodig is. De drie wintertests geeft de coureurs en teams genoeg kilometers om goed voorbereid aan de start te komen in Australië.
Voorlopig staat de Grand Prix van Australië voor 17 maart 2013 op de kalender. Hierdoor vindt de eerste wintertest in Jerez plaats van 5 tot en met 8 februari. De tweede en derde test vinden plaats in Barcelona van 19 februari tot en met 22 februari en 28 februari tot en met 3 maart.

Wednesday 1 August at 16:35 : Aug.1 (GMM) Red Bull has hit back at the latest technical controversy by insisting Ferrari was the first on the grid with a hand-operated adjuster.
It emerged in Hungary last weekend that, weeks ago in Canada, the FIA told reigning champions Red Bull to stop using a device that in theory allowed mechanics to adjust the right-height of the car without using a tool.
The suspicion was that the team might have been able to surreptiously make performance adjustments to the RB8 in the \'parc ferme\' conditions between qualifying and the race.
Red Bull\'s Dr Helmut Marko, however, said the matter is simple.
\"We have never made adjustments by hand,\" he is quoted by Germany\'s Auto Motor und Sport.
\"I don\'t know why the others get so upset -- we happen to know that Ferrari used something like that for a year,\" Marko said.
