Wehrlein cleared after hefty FP2 accident

Sauber's Pascal Wehrlein has insisted that he is "feeling OK" following a large accident on Friday afternoon at the Hungaroring. The crash took place as the German was navigating Turn 11, where his car left the track and collided heavily with the barriers.

Thankfully, he was able to climb out of his machine unharmed, but he was still taken to the circuit's medical centre as a precaution due to the ferocity of the shunt. Wehrlein has already struggled with his fitness this year, missing the season-opening races in Australia and China as a consequence of injury, but is unscathed on this occasion.

"I'm fine, all OK," he said. "It felt quite hard, but I think with the tyre barrier it takes a lot of the pressure. I'm feeling OK. I was in the medical centre and all OK. I lost the car, but I don't really know why. We have to check the data and everything with what happened. It was a big smash. It just went and then I corrected and then I crashed."
