Bottas has previously been linked with moves to Mercedes and Ferrari but with Kimi Raikkonen now signing a new deal with the Italian team, he will stay put for the time being.
"He no longer has any hurry," Salo told the Finnish broadcaster MTV.
"Mercedes is full, Ferrari is full, Red Bull is full. Where else would he want to go when the next team is Williams?" he added. "Valtteri is an extremely good driver who fits with the team very well, so I could see them [Williams] wanting to hold onto him for the next ten years."
