The Williams FW42 will arrive in the Barcelona paddock early Wednesday morning, according to the team.

The Grove squad has missed out on the opening two days of running as it is behind schedule with car parts. However, it is hopeful that it will make it onto the circuit Wednesday afternoon and commence its pre-season programme.

A statement from the team read: "Our car looking likely to arrive at the circuit between 4-5am tomorrow morning. Obviously there will still be a fair amount to do but we will be working as fast as we can. Unlikely to run before lunch though but I’ll update you further as I know more."

Williams' third driver Nicholas Latifi was set to drive the car this week, splitting the time in the car with full-time drivers Robert Kubica and George Russell. However, the Canadian will not jump into the car this week to give Kubica and Russell more laps in the FW42.

The team's underwhelming start to the 2019 season has seen rumours emerge about the future of its technical director Paddy Lowe, who joined the outfit in 2017.

  • *groans* it better be worth it, Williams, or this could be yet another train wreck. Don't make me go there for a little purification *gently strokes plague doctor mask*.

    • I mean my cardio sucks for one thing. I can hardly hold my breath for 1 minute, even less so 12 hours. And for the other: this is the modern Williams. Them launching on time, even if that "on time" is a delay, is about as likely as I am to quit snorting green tea powder.

With williams luck the car will miss the plane flight over, and get stopped at customs, lol

And if it gets to the garage for the 5am time they hope, they have all day to get the car built and running.... oops we left the front wing at home.

Cant wait for Roberts diplomatic press interviews ;p

    • Yes! The car will miss the plane, get stopped at the custom's AND it will be arrested for smuggling drugs! They will have to do the testing without the car! Just have Kubica and Russell just running around the track instead! XD

Listened to the swedish reporters. A number of rumors swirling around, like the car will be even slower than last years because of faulty design. And the last minute quick fix parts was not ready on time. I think Williams are up sh*t creek without a paddle.
