Alfa Romeo Sauber has confirmed that it will launch its new car at 11:30 UK time next Tuesday. The Swiss squad had previously announced that it would be unveiling its new car on February 20, giving us a look at the start of a new era with Alfa Romeo.

At the end of 2017, Sauber confirmed the title sponsorship deal with Alfa Romeo, while also announcing that Charles Leclerc was joining the team. He will be partnered with Marcus Ericsson, who remains at the Hinwil-based squad for a fourth consecutive season.

At the presentation of the announcement, the team unveiled a concept livery of red and white, hinting at the upcoming colour design that we will see next week. The team's 2018 challenger will be launched online at 12:30 CET, which translates to 11:30 in GMT.

After struggling throughout the 2017 season, Sauber will be hoping for boosted results this year. It will return to up-to-date power, having run with year old Ferrari engines in 2017. Having originally planned to race with Honda units this year, Frederic Vasseur scrapped the deal and signed a multi-year contract with Ferrari after taking over as team principal last July.

Looks like they're ditching the halo.

Oh yeah, and the height of the nose seems not to be within regulations. Sneaky bastards.

  • I personally hope they retain that design, it was rad. Though I'll miss their 2017 livery, it was really elegant.
