Claire Williams to miss remaining 2017 races

Claire Williams has confirmed that she will be missing the remaining races of the 2017 season, as she is expected to give birth in the coming days. The deputy team principal of Williams is expecting a baby boy, which will be her very first child.

Claire said at Monza that she will be working from home from now on this season: "It's a bit strange because I've been here for so many years and I'm going to miss the last races of the year. I'm a little sad because this (the paddock) is my home, it's my office," Williams added.

At the Italian Grand Prix, Williams recorded its second double points score of the year. Lance Stroll came home in P7 while teammate Felipe Massa crossed the line in eighth. At the end of the race, the pair were involved in a scrap and contact was made, but fortunately, both survived to take away valuable points.

"I think it was definitely a good result for the team," Massa said, "It’s always good to score points with both cars. We scored 10 points with both cars. I was happy with the race and with the fights. I just had a little touch at the end with Lance but fortunately, nothing happened and we managed to finish well. I’m happy with the performance and the race. It was a good Sunday for the team."
