Daniil Kvyat had a strong showing in the first two practice sessions in Montreal. Toro Rosso look to be in the hunt for more points this weekend, despite running a Renault engine that is down on power compared to the Mercedes and Ferrari power around them.
Kvyat: "I'm happy because we were able to complete many useful laps today and we will now try to learn from it all overnight in order to make further steps forward. Overall, I think both of today's practice sessions were beneficial for us and hopefully, we can capitalise on all of this tomorrow."

Carlos Sainz's day was much trickier. The Spaniard missed out on the whole of FP1 due to an engine failure and had to attempt to get up to speed in the second session. He set the second most amount of laps in the afternoon outing, just 3 behind Esteban Ocon.
"FP2 was all about catching up after unfortunately missing out on FP1 – obviously, this isn't the ideal track for this to happen, so we needed to do a lot of laps and build it up nicely this afternoon. The catch-up will continue tomorrow in FP3 because one session is not enough to fully recover. We will now keep pushing and get ready for tomorrow!"

A point or two shouldnt be impossible. Haas has a better engine but suffer from brake troubles, so they will probably not be competitive here, Renault isnt competitive here, and while Alonso set in a stellar lap yesterday I think they lack the race pace to be able to grab points, same apply for Sauber. That leaves Force India, Williams and the Red Bull teams. Honestly, I think Force India could be a serious threat to Red Bull both here and in Baku.
