Stroll rejects idea of recruiting a new driver coach

After a tough start to his career in Formula 1, Lance Stroll has shot down any suggestions that he requires a new driver coach to assist him and help him improve. Stroll has seen the chequered flag just twice this season and has been consistently off the pace of teammate Felipe Massa.

Stroll joined Williams as a development driver in 2016 and secured a seat for 2017. Despite suggestions that he should bring a coach in, he has denied that he needs one: "I have my little entourage of who I travel with, some friends and people who help me more technically on the track,” he said. "Obviously, my engineers who I work closely with, we are all in the ship together.

"I have my crew and I am happy with at the moment so I don't really think I would go searching for anyone else. But I definitely believe in having people around you to help you move forward. Everyone has their own way of doing it but I think it's important to have help around you,” he said. “F1 is a team sport, not an individual sport.

“The more experience you have, the less is needed but I feel like I have good support around me and people helping me to be the best I can be. This year is new for me so I definitely know that I need people around me to help guide me in the right direction.”

Lance Stroll comment on Monaco "I think corner eight and the last corner are the two places I need to improve on, but it really annoys me because every time I play the Playstation game it has always been those two corners that I couldn’t get right, and in reality it is still those two corners!"

    • Yeah but what relevance does it have on his ability to drive lol

    • It isnt relevant. Those games he refer to are more like VR-racing sim: you use a VR-headset and, in GT Academy's case, components from a GT car. Racing sims as of present looks like a decent way into motorsports, Ordonez is a notable example.
