Marcus Ericsson has revealed it is likely he will stay at Sauber for 2017.
The Swiss team is yet to confirm its driver lineup for next year, and Ericsson had previously revealed that he had been in talks with other teams, despite a reported link between his backers and Sauber's new owners.
However, the Swede has now revealed that a third season with Sauber team is now on the cards.
"To be honest it's looking more likely I'm staying in Sauber," he is quoted by Autosport in Japan. "I've been here almost two seasons and I like it here. Now it's looking a lot better in the team as well, it's moving in the right direction, so for me it's a lot more attractive to try and stay here.
"We need to wait a bit more before I know for sure, but it's looking more likely now," he said.
