Williams' Rob Smedley has said the team was lucky that Force India only had one car finish the Singapore Grand Prix as it limited the damage done to them in the fight for fourth place.
WIlliams and Force India are currently locked in an intense battle for fourth in the constructors' championship but both teams only finished with one car on Sunday.
For Williams, Valtteri Bottas retired from the race to limit damage after an extended pit stop, while Felipe Massa finished in 12th place, out of the points.
"For Felipe, we chose to go on a three-stop strategy to give us a bigger tyre delta at the end, but throughout the pit stops and through the traffic we just seemed to be on the back foot," said Smedley. "For a circuit like this, and in terms of where we are in the championship, the damage has been limited.
"The teams around us didn't get the points they could have done so we've been quite lucky."
