Nico Hulkenberg has said that he would like Sergio Perez to remain his team mate at Force India next season.
Both drivers are contracted to the Silverstone-based team for next year but Perez has hinted that he will leave the team, with Renault and Williams currently interested in signing him.
But Hulkenberg hopes that the Mexican will honour his contract and stay with Force India for a fourth season.
"I don't know what Checo's going to do," Hulkenberg told Autosport. "As a team we're working together pretty well, pushing each other hard to the team's benefit.
"It's a good, competitive, tough environment, but in a positive way so I would very much like to see him stay."
Hulkenberg is another driver who has been linked with an exit from Force India, but speculation about a move has been quiet this year.
The former Williams driver said he would like to move to a race winning team, but admitted that he would have to wait for the chance.
"You've got to be in the right place in the right moment, and so far that hasn't been the case," he said. "Many people have had to wait a long time to get their opportunity, so there's no point in giving in."
"I've learned in all my years in F1 that as a driver you are relying on a lot of other people making decisions that go your way or go against you, so I'm not breaking my head about that too much at the moment."
