Stoffel Vandoorne has hinted he has options outside McLaren for 2017, amidst speculation linking him with Jolyon Palmer's under-threat Renault seat.
The Belgian, who scored a point on his Formula One début in Bahrain earlier this year, is in contention for a McLaren seat next year with Jenson Button yet to be confirmed by the British team.
But the reigning GP2 champion has said that there may be options outside of the team for next year.
"I would love to drive for McLaren, but if this is not possible, I think there are other options," he is quoted by L'Equipe as having said at the Silverstone test this week.
Meanwhile, Palmer, whose seat is also being linked with Renault Reserve driver Esteban Ocon, has said he is not concerned about potentially loosing his drive next year.
"Honestly, I don't worry about it," he said. "I'm only focused on what I have to do."
"I want to improve the car, because if I succeed, the chances increase that I can show more of what I am capable of," he insisted. "The other guys don't interest me."
