Bottas: "I'm really pleased with today"

Valtteri Bottas was happy to come away from Canada with a podium finish, out lasting the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo to take his first top three finish since Mexico last year.

The Williams driver stuck to a one-stop pit strategy while both Red Bulls changed to a two-stop plan midway through the race due to slow punctures, dropping them out of podium contention.

"I'm really pleased with today. As a team it was a strong one for us," said Bottas. "The car felt really good today. I was on it, and want to thank the Williams team."

Despite Bottas finishing on the podium, it was not a perfect day for Williams as Felipe Massa was forced to retire due to rising engine temperature on lap 37.
