Hamilton clinches pole position for Bahrain Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton will start the Bahrain Grand Prix from pole position. The Brit shares the first row on the grid with Sebastian Vettel. Nico Rosberg and Kimi Raikkonen ended thirth and fourth respectively. Valtteri Bottas rounded out the top five for Williams.

McLaren-Honda seemed to have found some pace in Bahrain, with Fernando Alonso qualifying fourteenth, ahead of a slightly disappointing Max Verstappen. The Dutchman complained on the radio about engine problems.

Behind the top five Felipe Massa ended up in sixth, ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull. Nico Hulkenberg drove to an impressive eight position, ahead of Carlos Sainz. Romain Grosjean completed the top ten in qualifying.
