Updated list for power unit components used

The FIA has released an updated list on the power unit component usage for each driver. Drivers can use up to three elements of any part of the power unit before penalties start being handed out.

ICE: Internal Combustion Engine
TC: Turbo Charger
MGU-H: Motor Generator Unit – Heat
MGU-K: Motor Generator Unit – Kinetic
ES: Energy Store
CE: Control Electronics

  • If there is something I hope Honda will fix for next year, its the amount of parts used (note, not all of these are wasted parts, e.g the new engine from last race didnt replace broken components). RB wont get anywhere if they need to be saving on engines most races... More than most drivers already have to.... "Oh, yes, lets give them 3 PUs to use without penalty during more than 20 races ol' chap! That ought to make for good, competitive racing, ah ah ah ah!" The FIA bosses said, while drooling onto their moneylaiden carpets.

      you are right, it was the worst decision ever.

      and it didn't save any money because of the amount of engine testing done at development.

      didn't merc build about 100 engines?

      thats nearly enough to supply three teams with one per car per race
