Fresh off his victory at the Italian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is back in action at Monza today. Less than 24 hours after standing on the top step of the podium, the Dutchman climbs into his Red Bull once more — this time not to fight for points, but to help Pirelli with an important tire development program.
Testing for 2026
Sharing duties with Tsunoda
Verstappen won’t spend the entire day behind the wheel. Red Bull has planned a split program: Verstappen will complete the morning running before handing over to his teammate Yuki Tsunoda in the afternoon. Aston Martin is also on track but is giving its regular drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, a break. Instead, reserve driver Felipe Drugovich has been tasked with gathering data for the team.
More teams tomorrow
Tuesday marks the second and final day of the test week. Red Bull will already have packed up, leaving sister team Racing Bulls and Williams to take part. Racing Bulls will divide the day between Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar, while Williams will also rotate its line-up, sending both Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz out on track.
A busy week ahead for Verstappen
For Verstappen, today’s mileage is just the start of a hectic schedule. On Friday, he will head to the Nürburgring Nordschleife to obtain his permit, with plans to make his racing debut on the legendary “Green Hell” the following day.
