Lando Norris was pleased with his run in the McLaren MCL34 on Tuesday, as he managed to complete a solid 104 laps. The laps were to conduct aero correlation tests and added to the data gathering that was carried out on Monday by Carlos Sainz Jr

Towards the end of the test session, Norris pushed the car and achieved the second fastest time of the day. His test included longer runs and also for his first time Norris had pit stop practice.

"I've not done much long running in the past or pit-stops, so getting up to speed and talking to my engineers are the most important things for me to get on top of over the next two weeks."

Norris was generally pleased with how the car performed saying that he was happy with how the day had gone and praised the team for getting everything together. He was also keen to stress how glad he was that the car had managed to cover a lot of mileage.

Norris also said that McLaren are aware of the issues that they are facing but their confidence is growing after two successful days on track. The team have already completed 223 laps without incident which is a real improvement for the team.

Norris added that the MCL34 feels completely different from last years car and the mood within the team has definitely improved. McLaren is using the first pre-season test to try different setups on the car to see if they will expose any weaknesses to ensure that they are resolved before Australia.

Talking about the the car he said: "It's not perfect, but I think that some of the problems we have had and the niggles that we have had to overcome have been ironed out slowly, so it's just about making sure everyone is working in the right direction and in a positive way."

"It will take a bit of time to get there completely, but everyone is very motivated and working extremely hard."
