Fernando Alonso has once again vented his frustration at Honda following the Canadian Grand Prix after the Spaniard retired from the race two laps from the end. Alonso was running in tenth and was in a position to score the team's first point of the season.
It was a familiar scene watching him clamber out of his car, as the Honda engine has been giving him trouble all season. The Japanese manufacturer has failed to deliver on a promise to upgrade its woefully unreliable and underperforming power unit.

"After 16 years, it doesn't change my life to win a point or not, but we have to start scoring for the work that the mechanics do day and night, changing many engines," the double world champion said.
"I do not have information about the improvement of the engine. I do not work for Honda and I'm not an engine designer. I am of course frustrated, but especially at this time for McLaren, who always give me a top car which is then attacked by everyone on the straight."

Surely heads should have rolled at Honda, at this stage, it's beyond serious now...Wouldn't it be funny if Mc Laren go to Merc only for Honda to have the top engine next year!

Heads have already rolled. Arai was the first to go, if you remember. I've figured that aswell, it wouldnt surprise me, and it would be both very tragical yet very hilarious.

I used to worry about that. Now? No way Honda will be anywhere near the front next year. I really hope McLaren goes back to Mercedes.
As for Alonso, he by far my favourite character in Formula 1 right now. I can't get past how tragic it is for him to not be fighting at the front.

Yeah, if they do reach championship winning form, it wont happen for another while. And even if they were to make a good engine next year, Sauber wont be competitive enough to compete with the others.
