Sergio Perez is expecting Force India to be pushed by incoming team mate Esteban Ocon next season.
The Frenchman will line-up alongside Perez at the Silverstone-based team for his first full campaign in Formula One after spending the second half of 2016 with Manor.
Despite his new team mate's inexperience, Perez is expecting Ocon's arrival to benefit the team.
"I think you always have to give your maximum with the engineers, giving the best possible feedback all the time and that is the same with anyone," Perez said. "Being team-mates with Nico or [Jenson] Button [at McLaren], you have to do your work and you hope to have someone next to you that can also push their side as well. That is how you improve."
However, Perez rubbished talk of being Force India's team leader now, despite his obvious experience over Ocon.
"No… that changes nothing. I have to get on with my job as I have done in other years," he said. "Deliver on track and off track."
