Kevin Magnussen looks to have finally given up hope of staying with Renault.
That is because the Dane has reportedly signed with Haas F1 Team to replace Esteban Gutierrez from next season.
While reports over the length of his contract with the American team differ, with both one-year and multi-year deals mooted, it does seemingly bring an end to speculation over the former McLaren driver's future.
Magnussen was in the frame for the second Renault seat alongside new signing Nico Hulkenberg, with current Renault team mate Jolyon Palmer, Esteban Ocon, and a host of other names also in the running.
Renault had an option on Magnussen for next year, with the the 24-year old reportedly already extending the French manufacturer's deadline to re-sign him once.
The 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 champion now looks to have shunned a possible opportunity to win races and titles in the future with Renault in favour of a more secure future at Haas.
Magnussen was previously in the frame for a drive with Haas this year until the newcomers opted to partner former Sauber man Gutierrez with Romain Grosjean instead.
The Mexican is thought to be in talks with both Renault and Force India over 2017 opportunities, although it is believed that the latter has already opted for Mercedes junior Ocon.
A return to Ferrari, where he served as a test and reserve driver last year is arguably the most likely possibility for Gutierrez.

Well, Haas wont lose on having him on board.

No, and since Renault most likely in 2018 will go for Saintz, Palmer will be kicked out after one year.

Sainz is only available in 2018, if Riccardo extend hvis contract with Red Bull. With Renault's actions this Silly Season, it is pretty clear that neither Magnussen or Palmer has no future at Renault in the long run.
