McLaren racing director Eric Boullier has echoed Fernando Alonso's remarks from earlier this week, saying that the team should aim to focus on next year's car while continuing to develop their 2016 chassis.
Speaking to the press following second practice for the European Grand Prix in Baku, Boullier said that the team would "have to mix both of them"
"I think we are still on the move and proving every weekend that we are improving by bringing more updates and I think this is a positive," said the Frenchman.
"We don’t want to stop developing this year’s car. Even if there is a strong change for next year into the technical regulations I think we can still carry over some of the development we are having now."
