Lewis Hamilton took pole position at Monza. The brit managed a time of 1:23.397 as his fastest lap. His team mate Rosberg only managed P4 today, three hundreds of a second slower than Hamilton. It is speculated that this difference was partle due to Rosberg was forced to use an older unupgraded engine due to the newer engine failing. Räkkönen had an impressive session today. Hulkenberg had a decent session, but caused a bit of commotion when his Mercedes engine had a failure and he were forced to stop right at the pit entry. Williams locks out 5th and 6th place. Grosjean managed an 8th fastest time. Last of the 10 first was swedish driver Ericsson.
Red Bull's Ricciardo got to Q2 despite his Renault engine failing him earlier today, but elected not to race in that session in order to avoid damaging any parts further. Toro Rosso driver Verstappen only manage to get in one lap before parts of his chassis were ripped off. Verstappen did not manage to score a time today.
McLaren once again lacked the pace to get past Q3.

Nice job from Ferrari, and they are usually better in the race than in qualifying so this looks promising for a very good race.
