Lotus have unexpectedly revealed their 2014 racer, the E22 online.
The car features a unique design, with the nose having a 'U' shaped gap where other teams have simply narrowed the monocoque. This alternative approach may prove to be incredibly aerodynamically efficient, and is also much easier on the eyes.
Pastor Maldonado's PDVSA sponsorship is also present on the rear-wing and engine cover, along with Rexona, Yotaphone, Richard Mille and Genii Capital.
The livery appears to be vastly unchanged from last year, with the usual Black base-coat. However more elegant stripes of gold and red are present around the bulkhead and airbox.
Lotus's E22 will be powered by the Renault Energy F1-2014 engine, which as with all of the vehicles is a 1.6 Litre Turbocharged unit, featuring ERS-K.
The Enstone-based team will not be present at the first test in Jerez, however they are expected to be in Bahrain for mid-February. The car will be driven by Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado this season.
