Sebastien Buemi finished the second practice session for the Monaco ePrix in first position for Renault e.dams, setting the streets of the Principality alight with a best lap of 52.729s. Sam Bird sat just 0.068s behind for DS Virgin Racing in second, with Abt Schaeffler's Lucas di Grassi taking third.

Behind them, Jean-Eric Vergne was fourth for Tahcheetah, with Bird's team-mate Jose Maria Lopez rounding out the top five, trailing Buemi by 0.459s. Loic Duval and Daniel Abt found themselves separated by the slimmest of margins in sixth and seventh, whilst Nelson Piquet Jr's NEXTEV car was the last one to come home under half a second behind the leader, ending up in eighth place.

Nico Prost was some way off the pace of his first-placed team-mate, 0.541s back in ninth position, while Stephane Sarrazin crept into tenth for Venturi with a best lap of 53.342s.
