Stoffel Vandoorne will get to experience his first ever home Grand Prix this weekend as Formula 1 travels to Spa-Francorchamps, home of the Belgian Grand Prix. However, before the weekend has begun, the 2015 GP2 champion has been hit with a penalty that amounts to a drop of 35 places.
McLaren-Honda has decided to fit a brand new Spec 3 power unit into Vandoorne's car, while teammate Fernando Alonso will remain with the unit he used last time out in Hungary. So despite receiving a fresh engine, the 25-year-old will start his first home race from the back of the grid.

"I’ve been looking forward to driving in my first Belgian Grand Prix as a Formula 1 driver for so long," Vandoorne said. "It’s exciting for any driver at their home Grand Prix because it’s always a special weekend. It’ll be great to have the backing of my home crowd, and there’ll be a lot of fans out there, as well as family and friends coming to support."
