Wolff not happy after disappointing qualifying for Mercedes

Toto Wolff was left disgruntled following qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix after Mercedes failed to get a car on the front row of the grid. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton will line up third and fourth respectively, behind rivals Ferrari.

It marks the first time since 2012 that Mercedes hasn't claimed pole position for the race around the Hungaroring. What may also worry the team is the fact that a Silver Arrow has only won the Hungarian Grand Prix once in the hybrid era, and will have it all to do tomorrow with the Ferrari's ahead of them.

"It started really bad. P3 was not good," Wolff said. "Lewis couldn't get on with the car at all and Valtteri a little bit better, but not great. Through qualifying we improved and we would have been in the fight for pole position, but the mistake in the second last lap compromised Lewis' last run."

Hamilton was then asked if he was surprised by the pace of the Ferrari's "Not really, we knew they were quick and we were aware of their pace. I don't know if they brought an upgrade but I think we did quite well considering. You can't overtake here so it's most likely going to be a train unless we can do something on strategy."
