Marcus Ericsson qualified in fifteenth position for the Australian Grand Prix, a great result considering the struggles that were predicted to come their way.
The Swede admitted there were some handling issues in the final practice session, so they backtracked and found a nice setup.
"In FP3, I felt like we had some handling issues, so we reverted back to what we knew from yesterday and it felt a lot better in qualifying. I managed to get a good lap at the end of Q1 to jump up in fifteenth and get into Q2. It was a good start, a good first qualifying of the year.
Ericsson went on to say that points are the aim for the team in tomorrow's Grand Prix: "I'm happy with that performance, and I think for us as a team we have done a good job to get there. We have a good chance for tomorrow, hoping to go out there and try and get some points, that's the aim so we'll see what we can do."
