Experience is an advantage for Toro Rosso - Key

Despite being a junior team, Toro Rosso's 2017 line-up is more experienced than it has been in previous years. Carlos Sainz enters his third year of racing in Formula 1, while team-mate Kvyat prepares for his fourth.

Technical director James Key sees this as an advantage to their rivals, especially as the new regulations come into place this season. They have had a mediocre pre-season with some reliability issues haunting their progress.

All at the team will be hoping the problems can be left behind quickly, and they can get on with what they hope will be a promising season for them.

"I think that having two experienced drivers is a small benefit compared to our rivals," Key said. "Our drivers give good feedback, but they also get used to change quickly. I think it's much more difficult with a rookie, as a rookie is still learning all the circuits and is therefore actually at a small disadvantage when a weekend begins."

Toro Rosso finished last season in seventh position, despite running year old Ferrari power. This year they will be running up-to-date Renault power, however it is not yet known what it will be branded.
