Lance Stroll has said that he is ready for a challenging 2017 season as the Canadian makes his Formula One debut.

The European Formula Three champion will race for Williams next season although who his team mate will be is yet to be confirmed.

The 2017 regulations for the cars mean they posses much higher cornering speeds, resulting in an rise in G-Force levels. Drivers will have to be fitter than ever when taking to the track for the oncoming season.

"It's going to be four days, eight days in total in Barcelona, we'll split that 50-50 between both drivers, four days for me, four for whoever else it'll be, it's not a lot of time but that's part of the challenge," he explained at the Autosport Show.

"[Williams] knows I'm a rookie, they know I'm young, they know I have more to learn than an experienced driver, they're going to push me and they won't take it easy.

"I don't want to make mistakes, but the reality is there will be hard times, it's also tricky for the team as it's a new formula, new car, new rules.

"Maybe pre-season testing will be a bit harder to figure out than the past couple of years, now there's a new car there could be issues, could be things to figure out.

"It's going to be challenging, I'm going have to prepare more in some ways than experienced drivers but I'm here and I'm going to try and make the best of the season ahead."
