Valtteri Bottas doesn't think Felipe Massa's retirement automatically makes him Williams' team leader.
The Finn has always been paired with a more experienced driver since making his F1 bow in 2013, but next year he will race alongside teenage rookie Lance Stroll.
Despite being vastly more experienced than the recently-crowned European Formula Three champion, Bottas insists that his role with the team "doesn't change in any way."
"My job is to get the most I can out of the car and the team," he is quoted by Turun Sanomat newspaper.
"Outside the car, then of course I am ready to help Lance if it is needed. But Lance is a young and skilful driver who will definitely learn quickly," Bottas added.
