Brazilians yet to secure F1 futures

Felipe Massa and Felipe Nasr are both faced with uncertain futures in Formula One.

The Brazilian pair have yet to confirm where they will be driving next season, with Massa out of contract at the end of the season and Nasr currently assessing his options.

While Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams has sounded out Jenson Button and Sergio Perez as potential drivers for next season, their technical chief Pat Symonds has said that he thinks the team should keep Massa and team mate Valtteri Bottas.

"Drivers are one of the things I am satisfied with regarding our team," he said.

Bottas added that he thinks Massa is underrated and should be retained by the team.

"Massa is undervalued," the Finntold Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat as saying. "He is still driving really well."

"It depends on Felipe as well, but personally I see no reason why he can't continue," Bottas added.

Meanwhile Massa's compartriot Felipe Nasr has a somewhat more secure future in Formula One.

The 23-year-old is well backed by Banco do Brasil sponsorship, and with current team Sauber's future now secure, the option to stay there is a more realistic proposition than it was a month ago.

However, he has yet to sign a deal for next year and has been linked with moves to Haas and Williams.

"It is not me who takes care of the issue of the contract - I have good people working on it," he told Brazil's UOL Esporte. "I need to consider all the options and see what is best for us."
