Force India's Sergio Perez has confirmed that he has a contract with the team for next year, but admits that he must discuss the situation with his sponsors.
The heavily backed Mexican was linked with a move to Ferrari recently until the team opted to retain Kimi Raikkonen.
He was previously part of the Ferrari fold, joining their Driver Academy not long after signing with Sauber, but the 26-year-old is now set for a fourth year at Force India.
"As you know I'm a very lucky driver to have many sponsors behind me so I'm not alone," he said ahead of the Hungarian GP. "I don't decide my future on my own. I need to speak to my group of sponsors to see what's best for our future and then we will decide."
Perez's comments come after team boss Vijay Mallya confirmed that both Perez and Nico Hulkenberg were signed "for 2017 well in advance", but despite acknowledging that he has a contract, he says that more discussions will take place.
"I think we have some time during the summer break, that's why I said that, and then we'll decide what's best for my career," he said. "What Vijay says is correct but it depends a lot on my sponsors as well, to decide what to do."
