Daniel Ricciardo is pleased that news of his future has been revealed, with the Australian set to remain with Red Bull racing until at least 2018.
The three-time race winner has been courting the attention of Ferrari, and had looked disenchanted with Red Bull after missing out on victories in Spain and Monaco through no fault of his own.
"It's very discreetly brought out. Helmut Marko and Christian Horner have something to say. That's good, it means that Helmut is allowed me," Ricciardo said of his contract situation. "That's sometimes difficult to tell! The team is very satisfied with the current lineup consisting of Max Verstappen and me. It looks fairly stable for years to come."
Red Bull Racing is the only team whose lineup for 2017 (and 2018) is confirmed. Ferrari are yet to decide whether they are to retain the services of their last driver's champion Kimi Raikkonen while Nico Rosberg is currently considering an offer from Mercedes. The future of both Williams drivers is still undecided and McLaren-Honda face a tough choice between veteran Jenson Button or new talent Stoffel Vandoorne who scored the team's first point this year in a one-off appearance in place of Fernando Alonso in Bahrain.
