Heartwarming Gesture: Verstappen Surprises Autistic Pizza Makers

Fresh from his victory at the Italian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen stole the spotlight once more — not just on the track, but with a heartfelt gesture off it. The Dutchman, who was even serenaded by the Tifosi after his Monza triumph, took time to visit the catering team working behind the scenes in the paddock.

A dominant weekend in Monza

Verstappen looked untouchable all weekend at the iconic circuit. Fast from the very first practice session, he secured a commanding pole position on Saturday before converting it into a stunning win on Sunday — his third victory of the season. The Red Bull driver was visibly delighted with his performance, but it was his post-race actions that left a lasting impression.

Visit to PizzAut
After the race, Verstappen visited the team from PizzAut, a project founded by pizzaiolo Nico Acampora that empowers autistic young people by running inclusive pizzerias. For the Italian Grand Prix weekend, PizzAut had the honor of catering in the paddock, baking around 2,000 pizzas over three days. The surprise appearance by Verstappen left the team overjoyed. In an Instagram post, PizzAut described the visit as “a dream come true,” closing with a powerful message: “In this photo, the Formula 1 champion is seen with our champions of inclusion!”

Back on track for Pirelli
Verstappen’s busy schedule continues today as he returns to Monza for a special Pirelli tire test with Red Bull Racing. He will share driving duties with teammate Yuki Tsunoda, while Aston Martin has reserve driver Felipe Drugovich in the car. Tomorrow, Williams and Racing Bulls will take over testing responsibilities.
